  • i would love to have a couple sets of the hawthorne scales for my bk-7 and some blades i am making it looks beautiful i bet it would take a walnut stain nicely

  • @SirMidnightBravehear It is a really nice wood to work with too, not too hard, not too soft. A similar colouring can be gained from maple too, just a little harder to machine. Not sure how either would take a stain, as I just wax and sometimes oil the handles on my knives.

  • nice project Adam. i have a flute made from Hawthorn plays rather nicely. the etching is nice. as winter is on the way i am hoping to knuckle down and get on with indoor projects. beading and such like ........

  • @mazadan Thanks Peter. I must admit, the etching didn't go as deep as I wanted, so is barely visible after polishing. Might have another crack at it tomorrow. I have bonded the liners to the hawthorn, ready to mound to your knife. It's all sharpened up too. Should be done by the end of tomorrow, all being well.

Would love to see some more of your beading projects and other things.
