Brambling under seed hangers in garden24 03 10

Brambling feeding with Chaffinches and Greenfinches on the ground under the seed hangers in garden. It fed quite voraciously and was, at times, quite aggressive towards other small birds feeding alongside - presumably it was fattening itself up for the imminent journey back north. It stayed feeding like this in the garden for nearly a week.

Probably it came in from the adjacent Campfield Marsh RSPB Reserve where seed crops had been planted as food for such birds
