It was such a beautiful day I decided to capture this time lapse video of Interstate-5 from Yreka to the town of Mount Shast California (traveling southbound). This is a relatively flat section of highway in the Siskiyou Mountains of Northern California at about 3,000 feet, south of the Oregon Border and north of Redding CA. You can see glimpses of Mount Shasta on the left, which is losing most of it's winter snow as the weather warms.

  • Hi, Loved the video. Just got a Digital Hd canon but not sure you do the time lapse-- The camera is not equiped with that feature. did you use a software program for this? I'd like to start doing time-lapse freeway videos for YouTube

  • @jaarmen3 My little Canon SD 750 has 1 and 2 second time lapse (1 frame every 1 or 2 seconds). But you can do the same thing with Windows Movie Maker (included with my laptop's free software). It let's me apply "double speed" to any piece of video I'm working on, up to 6 times. Each time doubles the last - 30fpm become 60...becomes 120...becomew 240...becomes 480...etc. The problem with doing it this way is loading a long piece of video shot at regular speed - easier to shoot it that way.
