Discovery Channel ruled in the 90s. I used yo get a kick out of how they made you feel like you were in a classroom with the same guy from FIRE FOX as the narrator.

My brother has a large collection of photos taken from F-14's when he was in the navy in the 70's. He, too, has some awesome 8x10s of Tomcats escorting Bears away from their Carrier. Gotta love the cold war.

No, the bird. A ban against Aim7 sparrows in Communist chinese airspace would be understandable.
Seriously mate, the government of the PRC is not smart.
For example; they buy all their tech from Russia... but they've been copying Russian SU27s & selling them without paying the Russkis. The inevitable result is that the Russkis wont sell them top tech. And the chinese have never made their own top tech.

@vodkasvictim like Sparrow the bird? or something else?
When I served at Kadena on F-15's, we launched sorties to chase Tu-95 Bears out of Korea and Japan all the time. They would just wave and take pictures and turn around. One time the flight surgeon happened to be racking up flight time in the back seat of an F-15D, and took an awesome 35mm picture of one. It was blown up as an 8x10 and passed out to everyone in the AMU that wanted one.
Mine is framed and hanging here in my home office.
