Just a simple quick setup with a versadeck, it really is a true all in one. If I had prepared a flash drive in advance, I didn't even need the laptop, as the versadeck will run on it's own without a laptop.

  • Man I cant get enough of your videos, I love this one. I do have a hard drive question for you? Is it possible for the versadeck to play from an ipod? Will it see it as a hard drive or do you have to use thumbs and or a basic external hard drive? Thanks for your help in advance and keep up the great work!!! DJ Malarky out.

  • @djmalarky : No, it does not have iPod connectivity. You could plug it into a channel input like you would a CD player using a headphone to RCA adapter cable, but you can do that with any mixer.... so no iPod features. While you can connect an external large hard drive to it, formatted to FAT32, I don't really recommend going to big. A 32 GB flash drive well organized is a good bet, with maybe a few 8 GB flash drives for editing for special events.

  • @sleeperawaken36 Thank you my friend. I didnt think that was the case but I had to ask lol. I normally use VDJ with my lappy but I think its nice to do those types of gigs with a thumb. Again I thank you and keep up the great job. DJ Malarky out.

  • @djmalarky : Yeah, I could have done this gig with a thumb drive, but I was lazy on the music prep that way, so I couldn't be quite as lazy on the setup...LOL.

  • hey man if you could do a whole video on this set up of you sound system and what speakers are you using.

  • @chudh20 : Again though, this was just a small setup. I have a Behringer DDM4000 mixer (the only BEHRINGER DJ mixer I recommend at the moment, with exception of the newer NOX mixers) a pair of Stanton scs.3d midi controllers, and a Native Instruments Audio 8 sound card for my main mixer rack, but didn't need that here. Also a pair of larger powered tops, and a pair of subwoofer horns & Crown XTI4000, and a bunch of lighting. If you want to see some of that, the look through my vids.

  • Congrats, you're the first person I've found that actually plays real gigs with this unit. I'm trying to get mine in two weeks or less to replace my Hercules RMX which is good, but has no USB drive support..nice vid, nice vids in general, keep up the good work.

  • I been looking at getting a 19" mixer recently to get more compact (seperate CDs players, I even have a mixtrack pro i plug into a club size mixer) but after watching your vids looking at the versadeck may be an option =) also what wireless mics are those you are using?... great vids!

  • @sleeperawaken36 Ha I hear ya. I get like that some times when I get those last minute gigs and Know one else is around to do the show so its on me lol. Listen, if its not to much to ask, can you do a vid tutorial showing thumb drive and small hard drive functions with the versadeck? I understand it takes time but if you could I would appreciate it. Thanks man in advance. DJ Malarky out.

  • @chudh20 : well, what you see in the video is far from my complete sound system, this was just a very small setup, and you can pretty much see it already in the vid. For this very small setup you see here, I was using a pair of Behringer B212D powered cabs on stands, a Versadeck, a corded mic on a stand, and a pair of wireless mics (nothing special)... and power cables/XLR cables. Oh, and a laptop, though if I'd made a playlist on a thumb drive, I wouldn't have needed the laptop :)

  • @DJOmega80 : LOL.... just two really quick vids with no real editting needed. Hey, I need to go check your channel! Good to hear from you buddy, hope all is going well Omega :)
