Was lucky enough to see a bit of Eluvium's set at ATP festival last year. When he played this, I know it sounds pretentious but it was one of those moments when everything else in the world just fades into the background and you're just completely lost in the music. I met him briefly and he seemed like a really shy, humble and friendly guy. I really hope I get another chance to see him play.

Seriously a somg that really makes me cry. I am so happy it exists.

@iloah666 Same with me. I'm one of the few who dislikes the live version. I feel as if the actual thing just ended up sounding screechy (especially when he uses that "ebow" thing) during the live performance. Excellent song on the album though - very, very relaxing.

@DaveXerox does NOT sound pretentious. i saw Matthew play this song as well in seattle at Neumo's and had the same feelings and experience. the world faded around me and all that was left was the music. unbelieveable song.

OMG!!! when he played this at music fest northwest, i nearly shit myself once all the ambiance and reverb with the loops kicked in. it was pure fucking genius.... i love this song

LOL ban me into forever, tell me to go listen to mainstream music... I love the album this song is from, so much . I just think he sucks at doing it live.

I like this live version better than the studio recording.

@hannibalxx that's an ebow, but I wasn't impressed with mine. Try an epilady for a cheaper effect to see if you like it.

Eluvium is so great. I finally got to see him perform live this past summer.
I got the privilege to meet Matt after the show. Nice guy!

@GMB32557142 yeah, same here exactly. but sometimes, even when I'm not in that mood, i can easily let it drift around my head when I'm concentrating on something else. but it doesn't get me the same...

thanks
what does he use to plug his strings around 4:00? I mean, what do you need to get those long tones besides that cilinder-thingy?

That's an ebow. It's making those sounds you're talking about.
