Silicon Alley Stories, written and directed by Emmy award-winner Thurston Smith, depicts the dot-com shakeout and how life in the Alley of New York City has changed following the stock market crash of April 2000.

This documentary intimately walks the audience from the highs of the extravagant parties of early 2000, through the market correction and the struggles of those companies who had not closed their rounds of financing in time.

Silicon Alley Stories examines the roles that decisions, personalities, and pure luck play as one company secures financing and another misses the funding window. In addition, the film covers the major players in Silicon Alley before and after the stock market crash. It captures the effect this has had on entrepreneurial culture and morale, from the euphoria of dot-com parties to the hangover horror of a steadily dropping NASDAQ.
