  • Sayville, Browns River. I docked next to Clyde and George Oakley. Whats a count going for these days?

  • A count has gone from 500 clams to 400, and necks are standing at 16 cents a piece, so 64 dollars. Cherries and chowders are at 14 and 13 respectively. In other bi-valve news they just re-opened unrestricted scallop harvesting in the Peconic but it hasn't been going well.

  • Cool to see, I quit the bay in 1976. No clams in colorado, just Rocky Mountain Oysters.

  • Where did you work out of? Believe me it was rough going this week. Barely even caught a full count of necks.

  • Nice video, I grew up in East Patchogue and we sailed the GSB a lot, summered at Davis Park..... if you ever get to see the film Diggers it's cool, about clammers in the 70's.... it's not a documentary.

  • Its sad that very few guys clam in the bay anymore. I'm dating Clyde's daughter and some of the stories he tells me from his days of clamming are unbelievable. i wish i were around in the 70's
