@ArmyRanger81 Served two tours in Afghan during my 6. Was planning on more but i hit a trip line, IED went off about 10 yards from me. 6 of 8 men died. Not me. I couldn't live with myself afterwards. I really felt at fault. Only thing that brought me through was talking to the VA counselors. Government pays a lot of money on help for us. Use it brother. It wasn't your fault. Men die for freedom, thats how it has to be. Your buddy has honored us all. Oorah.

Hey brother, I did my 4 and got out a few months back. Two tours to afghan with an infantry unit. We lost our share, all good men, and a couple I would call friend. I was fortunate enough to not lose them quite that same way, and I'm sorry to hear that. The saying "There's no atheists in a foxhole" comes to mind. I don't know how religious you are, but if you look deep into one it might help you cope like it did me. Help show you it wasn't on you, but god had a higher purpose for him.
