that thing burns too much, set a cast iron dutch oven on the light spot with another pan inside it to cook stuff. of course you might end up just melting through the iron
you need to get up on a ladder to keep pan flat, shake it more and judging from the white smoke at the beginning it was burning the aluminum also. Too much heat.
as you did not get an answer here, I will tell you I scrounged (recycled) mine. mirrors break and when they do, and if you can keep an eye out around and about or a message on your local freecycle group, they can be cut up into small facets and utilized. Just think of broken mirrors as a commodity.
my 6 foot dish (30ft^2)gets two gallons boiling in around twenty minutes. This one is over three times the area,(100ft^2) so probably a gallon in around 4 or 5 minutes (or less) to a rolling boil in a pot or piped through the focal point in a target coil. Great dish Rob!
too hot for most cooking isn't it? Good for boiling water. You got the equivilant of around three or four propane cook tops going on one spot. Very nice job. You could probably melt aluminum cans into ingots.
Good song !!!
