@AugustPSI ...which is exactly why Duke didn't deserve to win in '05. Or '07. Or '08. This is just full, thorough, and completely substantial evidence that the old adage of how "defense wins championships" will probably always win out in the end.

what makes it even better is that cornell had come back from 8 down

duke is bomb i love watching highlights of them they make me feel happy and shows me where i want to be someday with my lacrosse career!!! GO DUKE!!!!!

@rjkennedy98 No, I mean before the 2007 title game.
-
they did play hopkins in the first round and crushed them
-
@rjkennedy98 Hm. Good thing they weren't playing Hopkins again, lol.

@4midfielder I agree. the team in 2010 had great defense. if I remember correctly they held Notre Dame to 2 goals in the first half.

With all due respect to the 2010 champs, this is exactly why they feel short in 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2009; because of their overall team defense. Here, you see three failed clears ina row, only to be icing-on-the-caked by a tieing goal, albeit the last minute heroics of Zack Greer.

@slashlax i remember that this was before the ivy league tournament, so they only played like, 12 regular season games that year. That makes sense
I was there. The atmosphere was unbelieveable. I think all of the major tournaments/double header days (Big City Classic, Faceoff Classic, Day of Rivals, Mile High Festival) should be like that.

Cornell coach Jeff Tambroni is an awesome coach, and he is doing as well as any coach right now. If you think about it, although Cornell is a great school and has good lacrosse tradition, they aren't as easy a sell for talent as schools like Duke, UNC, UVA, Hopkins, & Maryland. I know he will win a title in time.
