New planet discovered

An animated artist's impression of the newly found exoplanet, 'OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb'. This exoplanet is around 25 000 light-years away from Earth, close to the centre of our own galaxy, the Milky Way. It has an orbital period of 10 years and is about three times as far from its parent star as Earth is from our Sun.

the planety may even not exist anymore, they are seeing starlight from 25000 years ago

Hundreds of planets orbiting other stars have been discovered. More are being found now all the time. It's not surprising that more Earth-like ones are being discovered.

@OHardcorecheezeO: 25,000 years ago is no big deal in geology or astronomy. Things don't just wink in and out of existence that quickly except under very exceptional circumstances. Earth, 25,000 years ago, was pretty much the same as it is now.

how could there be a new planet discovered in outer space how is that really possible that is so strange and mysterous also is there such thing as a planet named super earth it doesnt sound right to me because I never knew that planets can be discovered
