Tank is 60x30x24, DIY stand & canopy, DIY LED fixture with Arduino microcontroller, 40g sump, Aquaterra background, Beananimal overflow system, automatic water changer using RO/DI water. Current wild discus stock list is 1 Japura Green and 3x Alenquer Blues. More to come! And yes I know, not all of the fish in the tank are natural to south America :)

  • Really nice set up. well done.

Im kind of a rainbowfish fanboy myself, but one thing that I did notice is that your Kutubu's colour doesnt pop as much as id expect from mature fish. I am quesssing they might be females because otherwise they should be showing more intense blue. I did wonder if it was the led light, but the other fish colours come out very well...

  • @kumarsa108

Thanks! Not sure on the sex of the rainbows, but the LEDs did wash a lot of their color. I had them in planted tank before with regular lighting and their color was much more intense. You can see more pics of these fish if you go to josecardona-photography . com Go to the set titled "57g planted tank"

  • @jcardona1 Oh yes, great photography and the picture DSC_5300_1 is kind of what i was expecting to see from them...a really lovely intense blue.

  • @kumarsa108

Thanks! Check out the video response I posted of Part II, it's in HD and much better quality :)

  • Beautiful tank. I'm especially impressed with the light. How much LED light do you use and do you know what colour it is. Thanks

  • @fandango1111

Thanks, I added a new link up in the description that will take you to the build thread. Full details of the LED light are in that thread.

  • (right next to the filter) and just floats there almost all the time. He will come up to eat, though somewhat slowly. He dosent show any other signs of illness, what could be wrong with him?

  • Amazing. I have a question for you: the pH of my water is at about 8.2, and my tank houses: Several anubius, water sprite, hornwort, melon swords, java ferns, and other various plants with several pearl gourami, koi angelfish, blackskirt tetra, bushynose pleco, and various catfish (cory). Is that pH Acceptable, or not? Im wondering if its the cause of some of my loss of hornwort and this strange behvaior of my angelfish that seems to stay at one corner of the tank

  • Nice wild discus and tank!! Use Led light is very nice!!

  • @apulia75 thank you!
