The Road to Jacob's Well - A Llight and Lively 4-4 March

For a number of years we had a pipe band here in Israel--not an occasional group that only got together for paid shows, but an attempt at a real pipe band that met every week and practiced a distinct repertoire. Logistics were not easy. I had to take a 20 minute walk, a 40 minute bus ride, two trains, and get picked up in a small town south of Tel Aviv called Be'ir Ya'akov--Jacob's Well in English. There I gave my first lesson, then went on to band practice, slept over at a band member's house, gave a morning lesson or two, and then took a train and a bus to get home. That weekly travelling inspired this tune, along of course with the real Jacob's Well by Shekhem in Shomron (Samaria), in the heartland of Israel.
