The 3rd December was a busy day for railtours in the UK, and two of them would find there way into Mid Kent.
The first of these tours would be the 1Z74 Doncaster - Canterbury West top n' tailed by West Coast Railway Company locomotives 47851 and 47237. This tour is seen at Paddock Wood. We then see 466042 and 466040 operating a Tonbridge - Strood service, each modelling one of the new Southeastern liveries! (and much nicer than the former drab yellow/grey livery!).
We then move on to Teston alongside the River Medway to see Class 201 "Hastings" DEMU 1001 working 1Z82 Rochester - Hastings. This working would come into difficulties at Paddock Wood and forward to Tonbridge for class 73 73213 to be added to the train, for the run to Ashford. The trip down the Marshlink to Hastings was cancelled. At this location we also see 466006, 466012, 466007 & 466026 working Strood - Tonbridge services.
Now late in the afternoon we move to Barming on the Maidstone East line to see the return of the Class 201 on 1Z83 Ashford International - Rochester, now with 73213 on the rear switched off, making a fabulous noise up the grade. We also see 465038 and 465236 working passenger services to London.
Nice video mate :)
