Davd Rambeau interviews Joyce Moore. Moore is a candidate for Detroit City Clerk and came in second place behind incumbent, Janice Winfrey during the August 4, 2009, primary elections. Moore served on Detroit's Charter Revision Commission in 1996.
The candidate for Detroit City Clerk comments on why she ran for the position for the second time which was based on her political experience and maturity and her interest as clerk in providing issue information to the elctorate through quarterly meetings in the community and on the Internet.
During a recent protest against Detroit mayor Dave Bing, Moore told the Michigan Messenger that Bings proposal to cut Detroit's bus hours runs afoul of the City Charter:
According to the charter under the Department of Transportation he is supposed to find as many resources as possible not to make those cuts, Moore said in an interview. He has basically abandoned the City Charter.
The general election is November 3, 2009.
