This is a short synopsis I did of Hamlet for my Shakespeare class. I did a hastily put together video with some popular internet clips. I wanted to keep it short, but it got rather long.

In that vein, all the clips I took are obviously not mine, and you should check them out as most of them came from YouTube itself.

If you haven't read Hamlet I recommend you do. There are a great deal of themes that run through that play, and it is a very interesting (albeit long) read.

  • "-and the only person left standing is the never-before-seen Fortinbras-" What? What about Horatio? And Fortinbras /is/ seen before, in an uber brief scene. "Go, captain, and from me greet the Danish king."

Other than that, pretty good. Makes Hamlet sound bad when you say, "And he vows to avenge his father...but then he thinks about it." He has a very good reason for stopping to think. He thinks the ghost may be a demon, lying to him to damn him. Hamlet is a smart cookie. He tests it.

  • i was actually sort of impressed.

  • Hahaha...I love it!
