Keefe Avenue is not wide enough for curb side parking. Parents should be parking on Menomonee River Parkway instead of Keefe. Convenient parking for parents is a danger to drivers and pedestrians. Many people walking their dogs or pushing baby strollers have to walk on the edge of Keefe Avenue, because there is no sidewalk along the edge of the park. When cars are parked in the way, the area becomes even more dangerous for pedestrians. There's a woodchip path to the top of the hill in the park, but that is not a sidewalk. No parking signs need to be placed on Keefe Avenue to prevent a serious accident.

  • Isn't it against the law to begin with to leave a motor vehicle in the middle of the street? Cause that's what this looks like to me. Parents are hurting for a ticket. :o

  • You're exactly right...

  • in addition to the aldermen and the park's board of directors call Fox6 News ,Contact 6 anchor Katrina Cravy. 4147993666

They helped me some year ago. Contact 6 investigated my complaint, it didn't make it to a report on TV but the possibility of it being made public was pressure enough for the settlement of the issue with the offending party.

  • Thanks for the info. I've been contacted by several more key people regarding this intersection. My goal is to resolve this without the media...

  • A kid at the high school I went to had his leg broken for a similar reason

Have you brought this up with the local transportation department?

  • Thanks for watching...

I e-mailed this to the Hartung Park Board of Directors. That includes the President, Vice-Pres, Secretary, Treasurer, Wauwatosa Mayor and all the Wauwatosa Aldermen.

So far, Jim Bohl (Milwaukee Alderman, District 5) and Jason Wilke (Wauwatosa Alderman, District 8) have replied to my e-mail and are taking action.

  • A couple comments:

Did you call the city or your alderperson about signs before making the video or is it a rush to criticize? The park's been in the works for years...did you do anything during that time to constructively voice your concern?

  • Sounds like you've got it under control.

    The best of luck.
