Flathead Ford V-8 with Ultra Rare 1940's vintage S&S centrifugal supercharger, Isky 400 Jr. Cam, ported and relieved, with open headers. This 1934 Ford 5 window standard Coupe sat in a junkyard outside Memphis for many years. The engine came from a private collection and, according to the data plate riveted to the bellhousing, was rebuilt by Fallo Engine and Porting Service in Memphis in January 1948. I simply disassembled the engine, ported it, installed a 400 Jr cam, Manly valves, and a custom modified 1932 aluminum oil pan. The body and frame remained uncut so I decided to stick to the grass roots of hot rodding in the 1940's. This car is running with the original radiator, and gas tank and the tires are 60 year old Denman brand on 18" 1932 Ford wheels.

  • I'll have a look at it tomorrow. Wonder what is going on? oh well

  • Only 3 were ever made, one is in a private museum, the other in a collection and mine on the car. It is actually less functional than an early McCulloch. It has some very bad design problems. We are modifying a VS-57 impeller to go in and two new front drive gears. Lots of work but well worth the trouble to preserve and have a functional blower. Will post a vid when we get it done.

  • I had a mangasm.

Would love to see this under power on a track..... ?

  • @Redmanfms Thanks dude. Got the heads off doing some work to the engine. The supercharger needs some tlc. Maybe next summer, we can try it on the strip

  • What is the rould ball (looks like a toilet float) sitting on the passenger side behind the blower with copper lines running around it???

Neat to see a 21-stud and the early speed equipment running!

    Thanks for preserving this.

  • @JGMagoo You have a good eye. One of my sons put that into the oil line coil as a joke.... I may just leave it there. what the hell. Nobody wants to run the 21 stud as they get hot, have babbitt bearings, etc. I had the 34 V-8 in there but it cracked a cylinder liner. The replacement came from a friend's garage. It was rebuilt in Memphis by Fallo Engine and Porting Service in 1948, according to the data plate. Gotta keep the ole skool stuff going.

  • BTW, I noticed none of your car videos are up on your 'page.'

  • @CaptJackSpeed Not surprised, I didn't know S&S even made a blower, must have been junk as they didn't go into production. Not calling your stuff junk, I think it's pretty cool that you're preserving history.

When you get the motor back together post us a video.

  • sweeeeet idle-running!!!

  • Great Sound....
