Tiny particles of silver designed to kill germs are being put into socks to control odor. But as this ScienCentral News video explains, what happens to that nanosilver later is concerning some scientists. http://www.sciencentral.com/video/

  • I don't pretend to know if this Nano crap is safe or not. The fact that this idiot just said there is no proof the Nano crap is getting into our sewage treatment plants is just STUPID. Where the hell else does he think the crap you spit into the drain goes? I would have to guess that is would be minimally bad, but to make a video saying that is just irresponsible. Test the freaking sewage at the treatment plant. Can ya do that?

  • Your intuition is good, but it gets more complicated. One product, Samsung's SilverCare washing machine, uses silver to sanitize clothing, but because it creates ions (individual, charged atoms) some scientists think that the silver combines to form harmless salts (that no longer have antimicrobial properties) before they make it to water treatment plants. Research is going on now to follow fate and persistence of ionic and nano silver in aquifers, etc.

  • ahhh.. remember the 'benefits' of asbestos and lead in gasoline???

    Just sayin'...

  • nano-tech is great. But what is the rush to put these products on the market?

  • My name is

  • Honestly, if it loses about all of it in a few washes anyway, whats the point of putting it in there in the first place? I understand when they use to mark the product as germ killing that they could legally do so because technically, when sold, they can.. but if they remove this advertisement from their product, then its wasteful to keep using this crap, since no one will ever benefit from it.

  • @tunalik Thanx, what is the different between the two processes (making of)?..

  • @freedombiteback

Though similar to colloidal silver, generally, a colloid is a suspension of particles of from 10 nm to 1 micron in diameter and the silver particles in Nano-Silver are less than 2 nm in diameter and therefore too small to be considered in "colloidal" suspension. They are rather, in a "nano-suspension," a much more stable state.

  • A Pharmacy Production (Propaganda)...I.ve been drinking Silver products for many years now !...Fantastic Stuff, haven't had a Cold since !..

  • @tunalik Yes it is....

  • @lostinmaya

This video isn't about colloidal silver. While similar they are very different. This is Nano technology and you are talking about 10nm vs 2nm.

  • @Brasik1

    colloidal silver is not nano-silver

  • @videocruzer

    WTF?
