Here we see a veriaty of different steam locomotives shuntiing and taking coal around George station in South Africa. Even though this video was only made in 1998 most of the locos shown here are now in non running condition and the coal stage has been destroyed. So much for a museum!!!

  • I fully agree with you. South Africa was once a wonderful country for steam but the authorities who took over about 2000 are totally useless and should not be in charge of these once famous locomotives. Most of them now have been cut up for scrap!!

  • I thought SA was pretty 1st-world, but they're even 60 years late being STUPID and GREEDY, like the US did in the '50s. It's too bad they couldn't learn from other countries failures & successes.

  • Thank you . That was great. Brought back great memories seeing the old 7A and 7B, as well the blue 19D. That was always one of my favourite. Its a shocking disgrace what they have done with most of those Loco's. The authorities of the day have no idea what Heritage is.
