Real 16's are a bitch to find. Mirage Boats has completely restored the molds for the original 16, and is building new ones. They are very nice quality, beautiful finish, and a decent price. If they would have been around 6 years ago, I probably would have one. These complete restos are for the fuckin birds, lol.

These boats where orginally designed by Howard Pipcorn and named the Hydrostream Ventura and Ventura II. The sold the molds when the Vectors hit water because they were a lot faster making this hull obsolete in 1975. When the Vikings hit the water they were even faster than the Vectors. You want speed get a Hydrosteam Viking, AE-21, or HST. There are countless Hydrostreams running 100+ with the fastest Viking @115 and HST @130. There are no Actions I know of running 100.

Actually, this one went over 108, others are going faster. The 16 is not a ventura. it's 12" narrower, and the bottom has been changed extensively. You can even look at the hull and deck of an action, it's a shoebox fit. The ventura is not. The vector is a piece of shit. The Vking is ok, if you feel like rebuilding the garbage fiberglass layup that hydrostream produced.

Can you please give me any info on Action Marine boats? I use to know Barney Shroenrock before his son took over the business. All I know is that Barney is semi retired and his son moved the business to Davie, Fl. I would like to know what boats they are still building. Last time I saw him he was building a 23ft center console with twin 120 Johnsons on the back. thanks

Is there a website or anything that shows pictures of the new models? Has he been selling a lot of boats? I heard the son was puting the business in the toliet. Did the father come and bail him out? I was only 15 when I drove his 23ft cc prototype (which was over 15 years ago) but it drove so nice!
