HAAN SI-40 Agile Steam Mop Review

The Haan SI-40 Agile is a lightweight, electric and versatile steam mop. To begin operating this machine, you will need to fill the water tank. When full, this machine can produce steam at 212 degrees for twenty to twenty-five minutes.

Once the tank has been returned to the machine, the Haan SI-40 Agile can be turned on and placed on the resting mat while it heats up. The machine was begin producing steam within twenty seconds. After attaching the Ultra-Microfiber Pad, we were ready to start cleaning.

The most efficient way to operate the Haan Agile steam mop is to move it slowly across the floor cleaning two to three yards at a time. Because the base of the SI-40 has such a low profile, it fit nicely under our cabinets and other furnishings with a low clearance.

At only 5.5 pounds, this machine slid easily across our floor and was easy to maneuver in tighter spaces. Cleaning scuff marks and dried, sticky debris can take a bit of scrubbing. You can only leave the mop over the mess for a few seconds at time to prevent damage to your floor and then must scrub back and forth. This process might need to be repeated a few times.

Even though we swept our floor before using the HAAN, the Agile's micro-fiber pad did not capture all the dirt it loosened as it cleaning.

One very unique feature of the Haan SI-40 steam mop is it's ability to be used on pet bedding, carpets, and upholstery. HAAN claims that the steam mop can kill germs, dust mites and allergens on these surfaces. It also helps to freshen them and eliminate odors.

To use the provided carpet glide, snap it on to the base of the machine, set the machine on the resting mat to heat up and then begin gliding it across the carpet. To treat stains, you can saturate the stain, then switch to the micro-fiber cloth to absorb and loosened debris. This works best on fresh stains.

Overall, we appreciated the design and maneuverability of the HAAN Agile SI-40. We felt it left our home much cleaner.
