does it have to be a semi auto rifle?
and any specific caliber limits?
-
Looks like a lot of fun. Maybe we can organize something similar in Maine.
-
Yes, many use their own loads, but no credit is given for misfires.
-
The ammo used can be handloads?
-
You can use any past or current military rifle with open sights except prohibited (i.e.select fire assault rifles or smg's). Semi auto users are allowed only one mag and loaded with no more than 5 rounds so there is less unfair advantage over bolt action shooters during competition.

Can any Military rifle be used in that shoot?Like a SKS or SVT-40?

Is this like a program where you take your own rifle.
Bullets and other stuff that you neeed. and they provide a spot for everyone to shoot at with commands from whoever you paid?

Normally folks bring their own rifle and ammo. It is an informal competition, just for fun. Guests and visitors can attend and the lending or borrowing of firearms is not a problem but prior arrangements for the purchase of ammo is recommended because people usually bring only what they require. .303 British and .233 Rem is the most common, 30.06 for the M1 Garand is a little less so.

Usually folks bring their own rifles and ammo. It is an organised club event and range officers are just volunteer club members. There are several ranges and targets are set up on most of them and provide different challenges. The cost (other than ammo) covered by club dues. Non members or guests pay a $5 fee to cover insruance.
