this is a sad song, but also and interesting one in fact. i had to play this exact song in band this last year and it does not have a final note, thus the name, Final Alice

Thankyou for posting this. I've not heard this music for years and I can't find a recording anywhere. The one conducted by Solti seems to be out of issue. The full orchestral version is a fantastic work. I hope to hear it again some time.
