This is Red Steagall's hit song from 1976 off the album of the same name. It went to number 11 on the country charts but charted higher in Texas, for obvious reasons. The narrator explains how Lone Star beer (which brands itself as the "National Beer of Texas") and the songs of classic Texas singer Bob Wills (who along with his Texas Playboys are considered the driving force of "Western Swing") have helped him get over the break-up of a relationship.
And of course, the video has on-screen lyrics.
@cherokeetrace This song was still on the jukebox in Okinawa 7 years after that!
Thanks for a really cool story and I am glad you are still a fan of his.

Ahhhhh MAN!!! do I remember this tune! I was fresh out of boot camp and had just reported aboard my first ship homeported in Guam in 1976.
Exciting as it all was, being away from home for the first time, you can get alittle blue. I was at the enlisted club when this song came on the jukebox. Every Texan in the place just roared.
Been A Red Stegall fan ever since.
Check Red and his Bunkhouse Boys out if he's ever out yer way. Great music.
Thanks for posting this!

@jwgjr This has been a favorite song of mine for over 30 years but for 28 of those years I thought it was Asleep At The Wheel instead of Mr. Steagall, which made it hard to find.
And you are welcome!
