Just Jeb doing what he does best. I know canonically Bill and Bob are supposed to be the pilots (Bill controls Yaw and Bob controls Pitch and clockwise Roll) but I'm going to dismiss that claim. It's clearly Jebediah in the controls.

(wiki page claiming otherwise: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/~kerbalsp/wiki/index.php?title=Crew )

It's surprisingly fun to go fly around the terrain surrounding KSC - and a welcome change to what you can do on orbit (floating in a tin can can get pretty boring rather fast). I hope the aerodynamics support improves at some point, but meanwhile great thanks for C-7 for assembling these parts as part of the mod.

What this game needs is Beggar's Canyon and some womp rats, and some weapons systems...

The SR-81 is a complex swept delta wing aircraft with canards; although the main wing plane consists of two separate aerofoils for each side, they act pretty much the same as one delta plane would (especially with no air foil simulation in the game so far).

EDIT:

This has become my most watched video and the first one to break 10000 views, in just a bit over four months! Thanks for all the viewers, and thanks for Kerbal Space Program for being so awesome.

  • Jeb is (in the code) actually coded as the pilot, the AI has three parameters, brave, stupid, and pilot. Jeb is the only one with "Pilot" in his AI code. I've spoken to the lead dev about this.

  • @navyrayne Well, KSP Wiki currently states otherwise, although I do agree that it makes much more sense if Jebediah is the single pilot responsible for flying the ships.

I'm posting the link to the wiki page in the description, since comments system doesn't approve of links. Cheers!

  • @HerraTohtori The wiki is in-fact wrong, I know this because I spoke to Harv about it on Skype.

  • @navyrayne I have no doubt that is indeed the case.

  • How stable is this flown with a keyboard? I don't have a joystick yet( ordering one in the next few days) so I want to know if it flys stable with a keyboard, I've gotten pretty good with the keyboard just keep the nose light otherwise you can never flare up when landing -.-

  • @TheEpicUnicorn3 I don't remember if I ever flew this particular version with keyboard, but I would expect it to be reasonably stable. If not, you can always adjust weight/flight surface distribution by shuffling the parts around a little bit to make it more nose- or tail-heavy.
