That's right, a woman walked up to me while I was swinging the metal detector and asked me "Are you Digging for Worms?". "No Mam" I told her, "I'm looking for Treasure". You see it's illegal to dig for worms in city parks. It's posted quite often. This woman was trying to Do Gooder Police what I was doing. She was hoping to bust a worm digger on some self proclaimed authority.
She was walking around picking up trash. She showed me her trash like she was proud of it. Then I pulled out my trash. Two smashed cans, some can slaw and pull tabs. My trash trumped her trash on her do gooder scale. She looked at my trash like she was amazed with it. "Ahhhhhh WOWwwwww" she said in awe. I went from being a worm digging criminal, to a Trash Picking Patron Saint in just seconds.
Turns out the contraption I was using was not a "Night Crawler 9000 Worm Finder". It's a trash finder that finds the trash she can not get to. LOL She never asked if I had found any "Treasure".
Now that I am in good with this nosey do gooder troll with clouded judgment, I can freely roam a public park like a free citizen. This woman reminds me of the people on the internet that ask metal detectors if they are filling their holes. They are out to do a good work, but, extreme overzealous behavior often leads to poor judgement. The woman was so obsessed with catching a worm digger, she didn't stop to see the obvious. If you are a metal detector, chances are you can relate to the above story. It happens quite often. Park Trolls are here to stay. I need to get me a little orphan annie secret decoder pin. Next time one of these trolls trys to school me on the obvious, I'll pull it out and tell them I am authorized to dig can slaw by order of Daddy Warbucks. - neswiper

The DD is very hard for me to learn to use properly. Shallow targets will read and pinpoint full strength off the side of the coil. Sometimes I'll dig a hole and the target will be 5.5 inches to the side.
Diggin wheaties alrdy with that thing...Not Bad.Always helps to pull out the trash to subdue some over zelouse Park crawlers.Glad it worked on that one..HH
i hear you on the not favorable conditions issue. here in houston it's in the high 90s to 100+ degrees everyday in the summer. i can't stand to go out to md for more than 30 minutes to 1 hour. too hot & too dry does not make for a good day hunting. nice video though & look forward to future hunts. keep up the good work. hh
Funny "diggin for worms" story. I'm reminded of the bible story where JC told Peter to go fishing and you will find a coin in the mouth of the fish (to pay some tax thing). Perhaps worms would come in handy for finding treasure!
