  • The Yamaha speakers are backwards.

  • @scurfie Yamaha speakers are marked L and R beside each serial number on back of the speakers, from the listener perspective.

The JBL L-112 monitors also have a similar mirror image tweeter placement.

Both sets of speakers are placed tweeters outwards if speaker positions are less than 10 ft. apart and tweeters inwards if more than 10 ft. apart.

Same applies using them positioned on the side.Tweeters up <10 ft.apart.

Depends on your room too and finally, how you enjoy listening to them.

  • No turntable????

  • @gypsyThree97 A wall mount turntable rack should be installed to use a turntable,

The video shows how the lowly MP3 at 320 kbps can be amped up with vintage gear that was invented for Vinyl and Reel to Reel formats.

Music compilations were not popularized until the advent of Cassette Tape.

A digital front end has much more flexibility than analogue and sounds intrinsically different.

  • What are you using for speaker stands? I have an old pair of Marantz HD-660s that I'm currently standing on milk crates. I am considering getting a pair of Ikea Lack endtables, but they're a bit big for the application and the closest Ikea is a day trip.

  • @negatyve:The stands are an Ikea item called Marius stool.

    Steel legs,round resin top,rated for 220 lbs.

Perfect height for the Yamaha monitors at 45cm high.

The Klipsch Heresy II speakers are 15 in. wide x 13 in.deep and sit securely.

The top low profile table is another Ikea item called Klubbo coffee table.

With an all steel frame and corner brackets,it has supported some heavy amplifiers.

  • @scurfie Thanks for your interest.I rechecked the 1980 JBL 112 Instruction Manual and it verifies placing the tweeters 'outboard' less than 10 ft. or 'inboard ' greater than 10 ft. with the mirror image speakers.

On the Yamahas,I shouldn't think the L & R markings would be from the back stereo perspective.Soon after with the NS 1000x they went for a straight vertical driver placement,so no questions there.

Once you hear the NS-1000's leashed to the C-1 and B-1 amps,it just never gets old.

  • That's Amazing good stuff!

  • MAN WHAT A BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE SYSTEM ITS A DREAM SYSTEM!
