Black Conservatives Rebut Tea Party Racism Claims

Answering a question from a CNN reporter, Project 21 members Niger Innis (of the Congress of Racial Equality) and Bob Parks, along with Frantz Kebreau of the National Association for the Advancement of Conservative People of All Colors, question the validity of claims that the tea party movement is racist. Niger points out the "agent provocateur" angle, Bob talks about misrepresentation and Frantz questions whether the charges of racism are hyped from the very start. This clip was taken from a gathering of black conservatives at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on 8/4/10.

P2) The president got the Whitehouse because of white DEMOCRATIC AMERICA during a time when African americans like Jesse Jackson were accusing him of not being black enough or understanding the African american expirience. This idea that somehow democrats want to keep blacks down and on welfare doesnt make sense. P1) I am still not convinced by these guys. And the fact that Herman Cain was at this event is disturbing. Look at Tea Party rallies and conventions and compare them to the Occupy Moivement.,,Which side has more racial, gender and age diversity. Not every white man is your enemy and not every black man is your friend. The Tea Party would be more appealing if it cut loose from the Republican Party and the likes of Palin, Bachmann and Boehner who all trumpeted the birther conspiracy.
