This is my unboxing and first impressions video (part two) of the Lenovo ThinkCentre M90z all-in-one desktop computer. The M90z features a 23 inch, 16:9, 1920 x 1080 touch screen display, 4 GB of RAM, a 500 GB hard drive, a DVD burner, uses the Intel GMA HD GPU, and is powered by an Intel Core i5 650 running at 3.2 Ghz (with turbo boost up to 3.46 Ghz). The i5 CPU has two cores, and supports hyperthreading, so up to four threads of processing can occur. The M90z I'm reviewing came with Windows 7 Professional 32-bit...which, sadly, means the system can only access 2.8 GB of the 4 GB of RAM. It's a huge waste, and I don't know why Lenovo didn't go with a 64-bit OS. You can order it with a 64-bit OS of course.

Other features on the M90z include gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n WiFi, a 2 megapixel Webcam with a physical privacy screen and dual microphones, six USB ports, DisplayPort out for running a second monitor, VGA input for using the M90z as a display (laptop, gaming console, etc.), an SDHC memory card reader, and audio in/out. It has a three year warranty.

MSRP for this configuration is $1299, but last I checked it could be configured this way for a bit over $800. Check out the Lenovo site for more details.

  • Hi Jason thanks for your great review on the M90Z. I have a question for you, can you configure the touch screen for single or double tap. If you can configure the single or double tap for the touch screen how do you do it, thanks.

  • @bamboozledguy Under folder options you select "Single click to open an item".

  • @7:33 In Windows 7, if you're using a touch screen and you find the buttons too small you can increase the size settings in the Display section at the Control Panel.

  • @QuasimolecularFlux Indeed, I discovered that after using it for a couple of weeks. I think Lenovo made a huge mistake by not creating a touch-friendly theme with custom button settings that are bigger. 99.9% of all users will never find that setting.

  • That desktop took a really long time to boot up, my 5yr old dell boot faster with a gig and a half. Anyway, for touch screen computers like those should have a different mode to them so it be easier to use them. Don't u agree?

  • @Mouthmusician That was the initial boot where it does all of the configuration; the normal boot is much faster (I'll be timing it for my review).

  • @trevorgoyobro If you spend even two seconds researching this on Google, you'll understand that you're the one who's incorrect. Windows 7 can only utilize 2.8 GB of the 4 GB of RAM installed because it's 32 bit. Lenovo should have put 64-bit on here.

  • Great overview Jason. It was pretty funny how you reacted to the icons splitting up in "simple tap" ha ha
