I've come up with a rather unique (in that I haven't seen anyone else describe this yet) way to memorize the rather unwieldy algorithm (r2 B2 U2 l U2 r' U2 r U2 F2 r F2 l' B2 r2) used to solve edge parity on a 4x4x4 Rubik's Cube. At fifteen separate moves, I just couldn't wrap my head around it until I suddenly had a eureka moment and instantly managed to memorize it after it.

And to be honest, I still run this 'story' through my mind when doing the algorithm.

As stated, there's a few points of straight memorization, but at this point the biggest part of it is 3 moves at the start... r2, B2, U2. This seemed to work excellent for me. Don't know how successful it will be at helping others, but hey, might as well put my method out there in hopes that it will.

  • Thanks for this, I solved my 4X4 myself and didn't know this problem existed until I saw it tonight. I thought someone was pranking me! So I googled how to take it apart and instead this vid popped up. Thanks!

  • Gay but effective.

  • Why would it be easier to remember this s"tory" than the algorithm it self? :S It's not even a story you just put words to the algorithm...

  • Turn on CC/ Transcribed Audio XD

  • @Kabuthunk I don't care what people think of your story, you are a lot easier to understand than 10 yr veteran speedcubers who speak in code 24/7 lol

  • thanks mate :D, been trying to relearn my 4x4x4 solution and this edge parity has evaded me. Your the first to give the solution for the parity straight foward and easy to understand

  • i liike this you reali help me

  • Shiat that looked insane!!

  • it helps a lot
