  • Always, ALWAYS get a second and then a THIRD opinion. Dont' be concerned that you are paying money for more opinions. Doctors and clinicians are ALWAYS getting it wrong! Follow your own body suspicion. I suspected cancer in a mole in 1986, had it observed in a women's clinic; was told it was nothing-then 1989 I had it observed AGAIN by a skin specialist and got the malignant melanoma diagnosis ! I waited too long and now have a HUGE hole in my leg instead of a single scar. Don't wait too long !

  • I am 19, in college and I found a breast lump in my right breast while checking if there was a spider on me. Odd story, we have an infestation of brown recluse spiders at home. Now hours away and again in college I have to balance school, work, and getting my tumor biopsied and diagnosed. My doctor at home brushed it off and said it was a Fibroadenoma. My body says it's far more serious. I am going to push until I have answers! Very traumatic not knowing if it's cancer yet.

  • I was 16 when I found a lump. I was misdiagnosed and it took 10 months before I was correctly diagnosed with Hodgdkin's Disease (a highly curable type of lymphoma, lymph node cancer). After treatment for that (radiation), when I was 35 I had breast cancer. My advice is to trust your instincts. If your body is telling something isn't right, keep *pushing* your doctors until you get an answer. Of course no doc suspects BC or Hodgkin's in a teen, but it happens. Persistence is the key.

  • @Neothink1 What stage was your sister's cancer?

  • @EDS9090 Most breast lumps are benign. If it's still there in two weeks, have your doctor check it. But don't worry too much in the meantime.

  • "hey" jenny im glad to know that you sister is much better now... but listen my sister also had breast cancer in the past and beat it with the help of the right herbs and a great diet... but most of all she no longer use any Deodorant stick or Roll-on with the ingredients "Aluminum" or Chlorohydrate.. please please check the back of your Deodorant... if it say's Aluminum or chlorohydrate that's a red flag throw it out.. it 's the link to breast cancer.. try Baking Soda..
