at around 0:15 the suit voiceover says "preloading audio simulation files". Ingame you can turn your suit off, in which case you don't hear the sounds, just the muffled sound of your own thrusters and gun.

Well done for learning pop culture science. Couple of notices for you: first off, gunpowder CONTAINS oxygen, it doesn't require oxygen to be present around it. A gun will fire in an oxygen-free environment. Additionally, all the audio is synthesised by your suit's audio simulation chip, to improve awareness of the suit's wearer. There, both are adequately explained by the developer, now go buy the fucking game because it's awesome.
