OVA tried to stay true to old tv show, where almost everyone are built like that. Which is funny.
That Sangsawhatever-his-name seems at first intelligent...but then I have to question this because, if he was really that smart (as to know that violence can only go so far whereas religion hooks dumb and/or desperate ppl easily and zealoushly), wouldn't he know that simply bringing the village people in and giving Saraa tons of his ppl to heal with sad personal stories work better to make her his?
