DISCLAIMER: This video apparently is/was on a script supervising site, which could be confusing considering I was doing part of a 2nd AC's role in this video. This is by no means a guideline for the role of a continuity person, nor is it a proper depiction of how one is supposed to mark a take under ideal circumstances. If anything, it's just a demonstration of a scripty's commitment to making the editor's life easier. I'm assuming the dislikes are from my unprofessional demeanor on the set, but please consider the method to my madness. This was a UCLA student film without a slate or an AC, and I was making the best of it by doing whatever it took to get the shots marked so the editor wouldn't have a long, confusing mess of footage on his hands. Before that, about half of the takes were recorded as "no slate," and I was beyond annoyed. I was the only one on set who cared to mark the scenes. The DP and camera guys kept forgetting to wait for me to get in front of the camera, so I gave them incentive with my own version of head and tail slate. After the creative slates started, we got pretty much every take slated. Mission accomplished. The editor made this video as a thank you.
