Kicking It, The Homeless World Cup Documentary

http://www.boyoutube.com A DOCUMENTARY about the Homeless World Cup is set to premiere at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival in the US.

Kicking It follows seven players, whose lives are transformed after they are chosen to compete in the Edinburgh-based tournament.

The competition was started by social campaigner and Scottish Big Issue-founder Mel Young in 2003. It now involves 4ADVERTISEMENT8 countries around the globe and is supported by the United Nations, as well as football legends such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Rio Ferdinand and Eric Cantona.

Emmy award-winning director Susan Koch's film shows how athletes from all over the world overcame poverty and addiction to compete in Cape Town in 2006.

The saddest thing of all, the Irish team won the Eddinborogh Cup, yet lost their 29 year old fielder, from a drug over-dose. He had been drug free for 18 mos. Really points up what Colin farrell said about the fragile hold on sobriety.
