tear garden

A tune a wrote a hand full of years ago. Then a couple of years later I re-recorded it and made a video. Just for the sake of it. Now I'm uploading it, for some reason.

This was my first - and so far - only solo recording effort. Written, recorded, performed, video captured, edited and everything myself. The video edit and sync is a bit choppy, but not bad for a first effort (same for the song I like to think!).

The audio was recorded on a 4 track, but with various tracks being bounced down, I think there are a total of 9 tracks in there - give or take - I can't honestly remember.

Drums were sequenced on an Amiga using Octamed (I wasn't very good at that part of it!).

One of these days I'll write, record, mix, perform and submit another. Maybe.

Oh - and yes, the video is showing me miming - trying to be in sync with the sound. So if you notice the guitar is not plugged in, that's why (I forgot to do that when I videod it and couldn't be bothered to redo it!).

Wow- I really like this ALOT! I too was hoping to see the band 'Tear Garden' but this is a nice surprise. So, what is your project called? Was this a one-off or do you have more? You should keep it up- there's alot of talent here- musically, lyrically, you name it. Bravo!

Thanks! At the moment that song is on its own. I started to do some other things, but they kinda got lost in the humdrum of life. I still a book of tentative lyrics kicking about, and many other tunes in my head. I also still have that (very beaten up) guitar and the 4-track. Perhaps as the nights draw in here I'll pick it up again. Gonna need a new source of drums though... Hell - maybe I'll just beat a pan with a wooden spoon!

I was expecting to hear a Tear Garden song as well and at first I was like... This is Tear Garden? then I glanced over at the description and was like "Okay, now it makes sense" But yes, this was quite good! Very surprisingly good... If an MP3 is ever made, I would download it. Seriously. Make more? =]
