Go To the Toilet

Genuinely the result of singing to myself on the way to the toilet. Recorded August 2010 to test whether I can make these songs on PC now that the Mac doesn't want to cooperate any more. You be the judge. What I didn't expect is that it's actually more fun on the PC. Who knew?

If it sounds a bit shoddy and not particularly thought-out, that's because I recorded most of it in an afternoon immediately after going to the toilet and singing this song to myself as I did. The "Oh GO to" part doesn't kick in until long after we've suffered through a lot of the same thing, and that's because I didn't think of it until a couple of days later, after this song had already aired on GBS-FM and been generally passed around a bit. I've always liked the idea of this song, but not the actual execution, hence the remake.

Coulda swore I commented this morning, but it looks like it didn't post :/ Anyway, I was thrilled to see this redone. I've got the original on my ipod, so hearing this high quality remake made me very happy. Then you did a key change and I started laughing aloud in delight.

Quick question: What is the actual difference between the Enhanced and Un-enhanced versions? What changes between them?

@msampson3d Haha, great - honestly the key change still makes me giggle as well. People who haven't heard the old version of this song before don't realise how monotonous it got after four or five years, it needed that keychange.

@msampson3d (cont'd) Anyway, my songs always come out a little too quiet in the unaltered version, because I render the mp3 with the master volume down, to try and avoid clipping. To boost them, I add a bit of equaliser to make it sound clearer and slightly raise the volume with a limiter. It sounds better on most people's systems that way, but even though it's only slight, some people hate even that amount of compression, so I also put up the normal version of each song for them to play with.
