Linux wont dominate on the desktop, but it already dominates supercomputers, large scale servers, embedded devices and it's emerging on mobile devices, pretty much all the places you dont see the o/s face to face. Funny to think that the kid typing his staunch anti linux rant is sending the data through a linux router in the livingroom :)

i think you're right, it depends mostly on the hardware-vendors and i see a move. :)
