These were the sounds of New York and New Jersey in the early Seventies; to hear them again today leaves a great feeling, and recalls cherished moments in time...

Thanks ever so much! I'd never though 'd see this again! That Cloisters piece has haunted me years, and I always wanted to know what the name of that song was- now I know!

The piece used in the final ad is called "Roses Today". PhantomDrums917, haven't you seen this all the way through? The Cloisters bit is the one you're talking about and it's the last.
-
@Avatar610 are you referring to the last one? please tell me the name.
-
@TiVoIsGod I am looking for that one too. I seem to recall the Cloisters one where the gate swings out and open with two boys running thru and then swings shut behind them. If anyone has that clip, I'd be in heaven just about now.

BLESS YOU for putting this up! I have been trying to find that clip of the two boys running with the gate closing behind them for years! That has stayed with me since I was 9 years old back in the 70's. Thanks so much!!

@x60hz Although your comment is 4 years old, I just came across it and had to reply. I remember these too, especially while watching WCBS Channel 2 late at night. Back then I lived in the Bronx and there was a White Castle nearby and I associate these commercials with eating them late night while watching the tube. I always loved Picture For A Sunday Afternoon and have searched for someone else who remembered those great movies.

Thanks for putting the video of these promos up. Does anyone out there know the particular tune from the second promo (which was my favorite) and who recorded it? I have had this tune in my head for at least 35 years. I vividly remember these promos being played during "Patchwork Family" and I'm sure other local WCBS-TV productions. Thanks!

@fscap811 Circling on the Circle Line, TOOT TOOT!
As for Lenny's if you look around here, it's on some of the early 80s NYC blocks. I wish I had an exact location for you.

Anyone remember those commercials for the Circle Line and the Day Line. They were always on late night TV along with the Lenny's Clam Bar commercial that had Rocky Graziano in it..."mention my name and you get a glass of wine on the house".

Brings back so many great memories of watching late night TV in the '70's...usually with a pizza or a couple of sacks of White Castle burgers.
Thanks for posting...
Can you post the WCBS-TV Sign On and Daybreak from 1982. Please!

TV Newsman is back on youtube, where is he?

He's not back, although some of his videos are appearing again. They are from many users who probably either downloaded his videos of aquired copies of his tapes via trade.

Do you have WCBS news intros & promos from the years 1973-75? The only things that WCBS had clips before 1976 were the Robert Trout intro in 1965 & the Bob Dylan "Rolling Thunder" piece from December 1975. I know the other earlier clip from WCBS news in the 70's was a Vic Miles weekend intro in 1976.
Could you post any clips from that era? Thanks.

Unfortunately, I do not have anything from WCBS from 73-75. I got this video from a former YouTube user who closed his account because he was flooded with trade requests. If he comes back to YouTube or some other video site, I will ask him about that.
