  • sick am from northshore and my fam part form big island and we look after the heiau on the northshore ohau over waimea bay respect dat place and feel the mana there sick to know that someone else know about that alohaz

  • this was very beautiful.......but what about before kamehameha.....what about the kakalia bloodline.......its not ali'i but my %100 grandmother claims we are high priests of oahu.....she rightfully owns and has papers stating that, waikiki, north shore, and parts of central oahu belongs to my family.........idk much history on my ancestors an i would like to know more.....but i was raised with a hapa father who believes in america an there ways.......

  • Well like I said, this whole thing about Kaumuali'i (should be pronounced Ka-umu-ali'i) is mute. His great grandchildren, the Kawananakoas, are now the most senior ali'i line in Hawai'i. If Hawai'i was independent monarchy today, most likely the mo'i would be the direct descendants of Kaumuali'i. In a way, Kaumuali'i won. That is what the kaona of "Kulia i Ka Nu'u" meant. Kulia (Julia Kapi'olani, granddaughter of Kaumuali'i, the House of Kaumuali'i) i ka Nu'u (on the summit/throne).
