Mass Resignation from Mormonism

On June 30, 2012, between 120 & 150 people gathered in Salt Lake City Utah to resign, or support those resigning, from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was lucky enough to be able to document the event and interview some of those who were participating.

Lehi dreamed about the Iron Rod and Tree of Life. He was shown that lots of people ate the fruits and looked around lo and behold a precious and beautiful Building full of mocking and sensual people. After they ate and somehow shy away and fell into the mists.After all these, the Savior himslf warned us thousands of years ago about the Five Foolish Virgins. The sowe that spreaded seeds among different areas including stoney, thorny and no soil at all.

You should know that Joseph Smith Sr. had the "tree of life" dream many years before Joseph Smith produced the book of Mormon. Why is Lehi's dream almost exactly the same as the one Joseph's dad told him about many years before?

When they excommunicated my mom , I pretty much didn't give a crap what they think anymore. If they could revoke my mothers babtism on such petty terms , it meant that babtism and membership was of little consequence in the reality of life.

So I honestly wouldn't even waste my time formally resigning from something that obviously has no value.

I think that most people who stop believing in the church agree with you and don't resign. Most people just stop going.

As far as I can tell, the activity rate in the church is hovering just above 30% and the church does not have the contact information for about a third of the members on the rolls.

I'm ecstatic I left Mormonism years ago. I got a life and started using my brain.

So did these people end up leaving faith and religion as a whole or just Mormonism?

Well that is the difference between me and you. You felt you still needed to worship a god and be saved through the crucifixion of Jesus. Hence you looked into continuing having your life wrapped up in a different story of salvation. I on the other hand do not believe anyone will be saved or damned by accepting jesus or not. It will be based on the observable detrimental effects in this life of what we do.

Reincarnation makes more sense than a judgment for all eternity at the end of this life.

I know that we are still human and Jesus knew that and that was why he endured the pain towards the cross that we could repent and recognize our wrong doings and come back unto him.I know maybe you feel bad about your mom's situattion but that isnt the end of it. The better part is when you are rebaptized you are recleansing yourself thru His Atonement and His Redeeming Sacrfices. You can always talk to me if you have more questions. Thanks for sharing!!

Yes, of course I was rebaptized. I was sent out like Adam and Eve sent out from the Garden of Eden to recognized and to open their eyes and see what they missed. I went thru so many churches and their teaching were the opposite.i.e God is a Spirit after all Jesus resurrected and seen, ate,touched even lived with his desciples for 40 days. Power of priesthood is real and I used it to cast the devil and healed the sick before my mission until I was committed adultry and excommunicated.

So did you have to get rebabtized? Ive always been a little curious about that, what Mormons have to do if they get excommunicated and want back in.

But no ofcourse my mothers life, nor mine was over when she got excommunicated. Quite the opposite, You could say that's when life began , atleast living in the real world.

Most sins do have detrimental effects we can observe here in the real world. The sin of apostasy however does not ... infact it is counter intuitive to living in the real world.

A "precious and beautiful building" is just NOT even close to the original: A GREAT & SPACIOUS BUILDING: just like that stupid 500-million-dollar Conference Center, there in Salt Lake City, as well as the 5-BILLION-DOLLAR MALL that, according to Monson, is so great & spacious that he, Monson, said, "Gentlemen, start your engines....3-2-1....vroom, vroom. Let's go SHOPPING!" What a moron Monson!

Even the Savior himself endured the mocks and persecutions created by his very own friends that betrayed and walked out on Him.
