You can tell which one is which from their ears, Mary Kate has rounded ears and Ashley has pointy ears :)

wow i dddnt know they were fraternal. i always thouhgt they were identical twins.

it's soooo easy to tell them apart. ashley is the pretty one. big eyes, sweet, feminine face, fuller lips. mary kate is not that pretty.

@elenagokangas Oh!! Is that why they only wanted to use one twin in season 8? Because I know the older they got the easier it was to tell them apart, but I never thought of that as being why they wanted to cut Ashley from season 8. The world makes sense again!

i think Ashely's face is a tiny bit longer, but it's very hard to tell the difference :)

well... u have to be wrong at tht cake prt. becuz it was the same scene they couldnt of kept switching.

No I reckon what happened is that they both did the scene, then they picked the best parts of the scene whether it was one twin or the other. So Mary-Kate was probably better at the running in to the kitchen part but Ashley did the little talking part better, so they used her shot. I think that's what they did a lot when they weren't sure who'd be better, so they got a bit of each and put it together in the same scene hoping no one would notice. Haha.

Exactly. Although that is not always certain as there are a couple of times when the same girl does a scene except its shot on different days, so the hair looks different even though its the same girl. But yeah, that is def a swap there, i can tell by their faces and presence.

lol well apprently they always made sure that they got equal. so ashley probably did that scene in like the practise, whenever there was anything to do with food, the one they always got to do the scene, just one was a practise one was aired. lol.
