Yes, Hugh is British. He was in comedy sketches called "Bits of Fry and Laurie" on BBC with Stephen Fry way before the tv Series House was on. Hugh was also inside "Blackadder", the British comedy series as well as "Jeeves and Wooster" in the 90s or so.
