An amazing weekend of backpacking into Moraine Lake, from the Green Lakes Trailhead. We followed Fall Creek, and the beautiful waterfalls you can see from the trail, to the junction to Moraine Lake. Hiked in with the moonlight to set up camp. The next morning we got up and started our hike up to the summit of South Sister. With it's elevation of 10,358', South Sister is Oregon's third tallest mountain. We enjoyed the views from the top, as we were able to see Broken Top, along with Middle and North Sister just for a glimpse. The three of us stayed another night at camp, then hiked out the next morning.
