By far my favorite cartoon as a kid! It was in a league of its own. Just about everything was perfect; the story-line, the music and even the small mini-documentaries on S American culture that sometimes appeared at the end of the program. I also loved the voice of the woman narrator at the start of each episode. Superb program.
Though, mum forced me to watch cities of Gold because i was obsessed with the ninja turtles and to her it was "a violent cartoon" and she preferred that I watched this cartoon, eventually it grew on to me and I loved it. And also charlie brown, watching that show was torture & boring as hell, but it was worth it in the long run since I was later allowed to watch power rangers, but that's another topic.
I'm just barely old enough to remember this. It's a strange feeling...it stirs something deep within me. Those were the days, right? Truly innocent...it almost makes my eyes water. ^_^
