  • it's like a orgasm for my ears

  • Sounds like a good performance, but that has to be the worst looking concert footage I've ever seen. I guess they thought the 1000 jumpcuts a minute would somehow add to the excitement of the music, instead it looks like a bad imitation of a Lady Gaga video, and completely ruins the experience. Note to the director: leave the excitement-drumming-up to Stravinsky, he's way better at it than you.

  • Oui c'est magnifique que Gatti peut faire tout à couer.

  • @Impressionist1 he didn't say otherwise. Read the comments before responding to them !

  • My high school marching band did "The Rite of the Firebird" for my senior show back in 2006. It was a mashup of the Firebird Suite and The Rite of Spring ^.^

  • He reminds me of my band director.

  • @mjtpli Oh, is it jealousy or bitterness? I find this performance of this peace one of the best, and amazingly Gatti is conducting it by heart!

  • Wow Sacre in Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, how emotional!!

  • @juggarnatha I've also loved this piece for decades, and based on this snippet I'd love to hear the rest of this performance. Unfortunately I'll have to be looking away from the _video_, which in this case detracts from the piece with all the fussy overediting. I doubt Gatti had much to do with that; from this he's led a very tight performance without sacrificing (no pun intended) the brutal energy of the work.

  • @mjtpli I have been in love with this piece for decades. This is one of the most honest interpretations of the thing that I can find. All conductors are silly-ass, vain fools. I don't care about that. I care about how the music comes out. This one is good. Really good.

  • @mjtpli Holy sassy-pants, batman!
