Group 4 - Sunday's Trophy Race Formula 2.0 & Atlantic + BOSS Super Cup

The events at Auto Club (California) Speedway in Fontana are always fun and are spectator events. We had 24 entrants in Group 4 for the Formula 2.0 Challenge and BOSS Super Cup. The track was a bit slower this year at least for me, maybe it was due to the track condition and higher temperatures. My fastest lap in 2010 was a: 1:40.62 and this year's during the qualifying race a 1:41.64.

- Saturday I qualified 12th for the Qualifying Race. During the Qualifying Race (#1) I finished 6th overall / 3rd in class. The other two Formula Atlantics in F9/A class are much faster cars, but I still enjoyed battling with the other cars in my class. For some reason, the run sessions were cut short to only 9 laps.

- Sunday for the Trophy Race (#2) I started 6th on the grid and finished 8th overall / 3rd in class. There were cones in the middle of the track which could have cost a couple of 10s per lap - first one in turn 19, then 3, 18 and 6. This race was cut short by 10 minutes for reasons unknown to me. Overall it was a great weekend and it's always fun the see my racing friends at the track again. :-)

After the summer break, the next event will be the Formula Festival at Willow Springs International Raceway.
