Pinckneyville Scenes, Part 4

In the 1940s and 50s, traveling Hollywood film studios would visit towns across America, filming local people and places, and from what I can tell, partnering with the hometown movie theaters to show the films they had made starring the local townsfolk. Such an occurrence took place in Pinckneyville, Illinois in late January of 1951. The film was scheduled to be premiered in the Capitol Theater. Perhaps some of the old-timers out there can confirm if it ever actually debuted there. This upload was obtained from a copy of a VHS Video Cassette, which had been recorded from even earlier copies of film reels. This version has been given to me from the Rennison family of Pinckneyville, kudos to their part in making this broadcast possible. Nearly sixty years, and several generations of video later, as a member of The Pinckneyville Historical Society, I can say with growing certainty that no one actually owns the rights to this film, lest some aged traveling Hollywood executive speak up from the back of the room it would be for all intensive purposes be listed in the Public Domain.
